‘Tidalism’ is one of eight graphic short stories to appear in his as-yet unpublished collection, Escape Velocity. Each of the stories is about an attempted journey out of London, the characters heading out on many bearings: by bike, by jeep, and on foot; and in different times: in the nineteenth century, present day and the future. All the characters in Escape Velocity are suspended between the desire to flee and the city’s peculiar gravitational pull.
