Janet Olearski was born and brought up in London, but became an urban nomad for reasons too complicated to explain. She has lived in Italy, Poland, Oman and, now, the UAE. In addition to EFL course books, she has written several children’s books, including The Sunbird Mystery, Earth, Water, Three Fairy Tales, and  - most recently - Mr Football. Her story comes from an unpublished collection entitled The Older Short-Haired Female and Other Stories. She is working on the second draft of her first novel Autumn in Namisa.
